Professional Athletes - What is the Point?

The point is, sports, the world we live in, is fun.

I’ve fallen off of my weekly predictions so I’m not even going to try and catch up. All that matters is the Cowboys are 13-2, possibility of finishing 14-2 going into the playoffs. NFC is pretty weak so we “should” roll through to the Superbowl and meet the Patriots..OR..the Jaguars (my surprise team of AFC). I would say the Cowboys have a pretty good chance of making it and a so-so chance of winning it. It would be a huge advantage, going into the next year, if Romo was to get to the bowl and play well.

On to other sporting news, the Mavericks this year SUCK! I have no idea why you would change a 67 win team’s lineup and put the play calling into a young players hands that can’t even hit a wide open jumper. Don’t get me wrong, D.Harris is a great and exciting player, but he’s not someone who can run an offense yet. Avery took the advice from others and is now calling plays again, but geezus..these new players just aren’t the one’s that will get you to the finals. Lance Bass looks promising, sure, but man why in the hell is he standing around with the ball when the buzzer is going off missing shot after shot. And watching them lose to the Cavs last night, a team who has lost 10 of last 14 games of late, and who also shot in the low to mid 30% range all night, made me realize they have ZERO inside presence. Dirk tries, but he’s white. The end of the game looked like a fireworks display of a arsenal of big duds that would fire off and just fall to the ground without anything happening. 3 pointer after 3 pointer, miss after miss…and the game was within 2 points. Mark if you happen to read this, I’m a huge Mavs fan and I have to suggest that this year the Mavs will go nowhere with these guys on the floor. Throw your dance moves around and fix it.

Ok, that’s all.

Dallas Wins One of the More Amazing Games

On Monday night the Cowboys were supposed to just roll through the Buffalo Bills but it was highly the opposite of what happened. The Bills had a rookie QB and rookie RB starting but something made me feel like it wasn’t going to go like everyone was saying. I was hoping, but I had this gut feeling it would be tough.

Then Shit just started going downhill. We got the ball on the 2 yard line, Romo threw an INT returned for a TD. Our next time to touch the ball, Romo’s throws another INT. Long story short, somehow we got an on side kick, ball in FG range and Nick Folk came through kicking a 53 yarder TWICE!! He’s my hero.

Now next week two 5-0 teams meet…Cowboys vs Patriots. I hope we win but man the Pats look awesome.

Oh Yeah, Two Other Big Sports Begin & One is Nearing The End

NBA has started and NHL is starting as well. I guess to be a sporty blog, I should play fair to all sports, but I’ve been out on NHL since their hold out season. That and the Stars have pretty much stunk the joint up

NBA on the other hand, I’m already getting my Mavs attire out and ready for the games. Undefeated this year? HA! Just figure out a way to not be the laughing stock at the end of the season like you have the past two years! I would like for the Mavs to win big games, and I’d like to see Dirk redeem himself in the playoffs. Oh, and how about getting past the 1st round to some lucky hood rats. We would have had that championship if we would have gotten past them..

I’ll end up with Baseball. My least favorite sport. Probably because the Rangers have sucked..forever. If I was a betting man, it would be hard to go against the Rockies right now. They’re on a tear lately winning like 15 of 16 games. Crazy. And also heard tonight Yankees owner said if they were swept by the Indians that ole Joe Toe’ would be history.

OK, I’m fading, Go Cowboys tomorrow night and make my prediction happen!
